The cowboy workman phoned the woman day after day looking for more money, having never done any jobs on her property. He thus induced her to pay money for work not done and obtained £1,145 by fraud. Peacock had gone to the woman’s home saying he had been doing work on her neighbour’s property. Peacock asked for £200 “up front” for the work and over the next few days he repeatedly phoned her asking for more money. Sheriff Susan Duff told him: “You targeted a vulnerable person repeatedly.”She jailed him for 10 months and ordered him to pay £1,145 compensation.
