President Donald Trump has warned against Britain increasing trade ties with China, where U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer has just concluded a visit. U.K. trade minister Chris Bryant told Times Radio that the U.K. "has to drive its own course around the world.,"Newsweek has contacted the White House, U.K. Foreign Office and Canadian foreign ministry for comment. Trump was asked about the U.K. pursuing greater business ties with China when he was on the red carpet at the premiere of the Melania film in Washington D.C. The president replied that it was "dangerous" both for the U.K. and Canada to do greater business with China. Trump then said Canada was doing "very poorly" adding that it should not look at trade with China as the answer.
