From next week, changes will see the existing private hire car bays in Leicester's Jubilee Square made strictly for black cabs only.
The current black cab bays around the corner on Highcross Street will be available for private hire cars.
Under the plans, a new 24-hour taxi rank – for black Hackney carriages only – will be introduced along St Nicholas Place, on Jubilee Square.
The existing taxi rank on Highcross Street will be converted into a 24-hour pick-up and drop-off bay, with a maximum waiting time of 10 minutes.
