Stirling Council failed to meet a key deadline for reporting its finances last year, according to a new report. Stirling Council was one of three authorities – along with Clackmannanshire and East Dunbartonshire – missing from the public body’s analysis because it had failed to make its accounts available. Aberdeenshire Council was also rapped by the Accounts Commission for not submitting unaudited accounts for inspection on time. Stirling Council says delays to its 2023-24 accounts audit caused a backlog, impacting on the 2024-25 records being produced. Stirling Council was contacted for comment.
