Mumbai, Jan 29 (UNI) “Varanasi” headlined by Mahesh Babu alongside Priyanka Chopra Jonas, will have his theatrical release on April 7, 2026, the fimlmakers have announced. Since the unveiling of its announcement teaser last year, Varanasi has generated immense buzz, with audiences eager to witness Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra Jonas sharing screen space for the first time in what is being described as a high-octane fantasy action-adventure drama. Adding to the scale of the project is a formidable supporting cast led by Prithviraj Sukumaran, who plays a pivotal role in the narrative. In a first for Indian cinema, Varanasi will be filmed in the 1.43:1 IMAX format, reports Bollywood Hungama. Mahesh Babu will be seen as Rudra, Priyanka Chopra Jonas essays the role of Mandakini, while Prithviraj Sukumaran appears as Kumbha.
