By Special CorrespondentBhopal: Even as families of 28 people who died after consuming contaminated water in Indore continue to mourn, allegations of administrative negligence have resurfaced in Bhopal. In the Narela Assembly constituency’s Chambal Colony, residents claim that the drinking water pipeline still passes through a sewage drain, resulting in foul-smelling and highly polluted water being supplied to homes. Following complaints, local Congress leader Manoj Shukla visited the area and inspected the water supply system. He, along with residents, collected the dirty water in a bucket and staged a protest outside the zonal office of the Municipal Corporation, demanding immediate corrective action and submitting a sample of the contaminated water. However, zonal officials and the assistant engineer were reportedly absent, allegedly anticipating the protest.
