The Logical Indian
1, a small village in the Mulshi taluka of Pune district, has earned the historic distinction of becoming India’s first “Constitutional Village.”This milestone, achieved through a sustained campaign culminating in late 2024 and 2025, was driven by the “Ghar Ghar Samvidhan” (Constitution in Every Home) initiative.
Spearheaded by Zilla Parishad school teacher and Constitution Ambassador Vijay Vadverao, the movement ensured that every household received a copy of the Indian Constitution.
1The journey towards this unique recognition began on 26 November 2024, coinciding with national Constitution Day and the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Indian Constitution.
This effort aligned with the Maharashtra government’s broader “Ghar Ghar Samvidhan” campaign, which has since expanded to schools, colleges, and over 2.5 lakh Gram Panchayats across the state.
We hope this “Constitutional Village” model inspires a national movement where every Indian household becomes a sanctuary for democratic values.
