The administration of President Bola Tinubu has approved a N1 trillion metropolitan rail service for Kano State, a major infrastructure project aimed at transforming urban transportation in the state.
The approval comes barely 72 hours after Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Governor Yusuf disclosed the development while addressing members of the Kano State contingent who participated in the 2025 National Qur’anic Recitation Competition in Borno State.
“The Federal Government has approved the construction of a ₦1 trillion metropolitan rail service for Kano.
“When completed, the rail service will ease movement for our people, facilitate trade, attract investors and significantly improve the quality of life of Kano residents,” he added.
