Parc Penrhos, Holyhead, has long been earmarked for a massive holiday park with up to 500 luxury lodges and cottages. As this expires in April 2026, the Save Penrhos Coastal Park (SPCP) group is calling on Anglesey Council to reject any requests for an extension. Subsequent renewals must be submitted within 10 years of the original planning permission. SPCP said it not opposed to economic growth but baulks at the idea of wholesale tree felling in a nature reserve to accommodate a large holiday park.
