PHOENIX — The Department of Homeland Security reportedly purchased a large warehouse in the West Valley last week. According to azcentral.com, Maricopa County property records show DHS bought a 418,400-square-foot warehouse off of Sweetwater Avenue and Dysart Road for more than $70 million in cash on Jan. 23. Has DHS said anything regarding the West Valley warehouse? It does not appear that DHS has spoken publicly about what it plans to do with the warehouse. The spokesperson added ICE has new funding it can use to expand detention space thanks to the One Big Beautiful Bill.
