The City of Nashua has scheduled a meeting for the public to share their thoughts regarding law enforcement of the town. Currently, Nashua does not have a police force of their own and contracts with the Chickasaw County Sheriff’s Office to patrol the city. That contract says deputies are in town for 1,750 hours a year and are compensated $75 per hour, resulting in $131,250 per year. The County Board of Supervisors has proposed a new contract with a 2% increase in compensation which will bring the total to $133,875 per year. The City says they will release data related to this issue in the coming days.
