Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts in Qatar (VCUarts Qatar), a Qatar Foundation partner university, will host the official launch of ‘Contemporary Art from Qatar: The Abdulla bin Ali Al Thani Collection’ (Skira Arte, 2026) on 1 February 2026. The publication celebrates three decades of collecting by HE Dr Abdulla bin Ali Al Thani, whose patronage has played a central role in shaping Qatar’s cultural landscape. Amir Berbić, Dean of VCUarts Qatar, said, ‘I am deeply honoured to join HE Sheikh Abdulla in conversation at the launch of this landmark publication. Chase Westfall, Head of Gallery at VCUarts Qatar, said, ‘With Pulse of Place, we offer a physical manifestation of the narratives captured in Dr Abdulla’s publication.
