AREA ROUNDUPPULLMAN — The Washington State Cougars held the Seattle U Redhawks to a season-low 58 points and never trailed in a 70-58 West Coast Conference victory on Wednesday at Beasley Coliseum. Rihards Vavers paced the Cougars (10-13, 5-5) with a career-best 24 points off of an extremely efficient 8-of-10 clip from the floor, which included five triples. The Cougars forced Seattle U’s top scorers into foul trouble, which opened the floor for ND Okafor to rack up 13 points and eight rebounds. WSU true freshman Ace Glass added 14 points, all in the second half and Eemeli Yalaho grabbed a game-high nine rebounds. “Really proud of this team for taking a step over the last month,” WSU coach David Riley said.
