He served as a boys basketball assistant coach to Craig Brantner (now his colleague at Pullman, coaching the boys) at Garfield-Palouse from 1997-2002 and to Rocky Reynolds at Asotin from 2002-08.
He led the Colton Wildcat boys to the 2011 state tournament for the first time in school history and won a state championship in 2014.
All of us look forward to practice after school, like it’s literally our favorite thing,” Pullman senior Taylor Cromie said.
And coach Paine really brought that on Day 1.
“(Paine) just came over to me and knelt in front of me, and was like ‘Get the crowd out of your head.
