A season-long Achilles’ heel kept Northwestern alive in a commanding 94-73 victory over Penn State on Thursday night. Penn State sophomore guard Eli Rice, coming off a career-high 20-point Monday game against Ohio State, answered both shots from deep. In Thursday’s win, though, the Big Ten’s leading scorer had offensive help from Singleton and sophomore guard Angelo Ciaravino. After Green missed a buzzer-beating three, the sophomore guard snatched the rebound for a dunk.
