Wrexham.com has invited the four North Wales Members of the Senedd to write a monthly column with updates on their work. ‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌In his monthly column for Wrexham.com, Welsh Conservative MS Mark Isherwood writes:In January, I was asked to speak at the launch of Disability Wales’ “Access to Politics Grassroots Network: Charter”, which is designed to support Deaf, disabled, and neurodivergent people in standing for elected office in Wales. With over 20% of the Welsh population identifying as Deaf, disabled, or neurodivergent, their voices remain underrepresented in political decision-making. As I said at the Charter launch, there are challenges to ensuring public appointments reflect the wider population in Wales. By using it we can ensure that Welsh politics reflects the diversity, talent, and lived experience of all the people we represent.
