Politics Trump links Tylenol use in pregnancy to autism.
Tylenol, which contains acetaminophen, is offered for sale at a drug store on April 14, 2015 in Chicago, Illinois.
“Effectively immediately the FDA will be notifying physicians that the use of … acetaminophen, which is basically, commonly known as Tylenol, during pregnancy can be associated with a very increased risk of autism,” Trump said.
The research raised alarms about a potential connection between acetaminophen use during pregnancy and neurodevelopmental issues, including autism and ADHD.
He said the association between acetaminophen and autism is strongest when it is taken for four weeks or longer.
