"These programmes will provide students with knowledge and also proof of their work experience for their university, apprenticeship and job applications."
The team is now promoting both virtual and in-person work experience with the Environment Agency for school and university students.
For university students, a new work experience placement is being offered for 2026, with applications set to close on Sunday, February 15.
The placement introduces students to the Environment Agency’s flood and coastal risk management work, future career options, and includes activities and quizzes to reinforce learning.
The Kendal Flood Risk Management Scheme is one of the largest civil engineering projects in the country, and is designed to better protect the town from flooding.
