Inspectors laid bare a catalogue of failings at Bethany Lodge on Malvern Road, including six breaches of legal regulations. Inspectors highlighted a particular incident, during which they feared a resident was at risk of "potential death". While the person was moved to another room, inspectors were concerned this wouldn't have happened if they hadn't been there. The report also said a resident had suffered a "significant injury" in August 2025 but that there was no subsequent investigation. Inspectors said the subsequent incident report didn't include enough information for "a robust investigation" and that the CQC had not been made aware until the inspection.
