Last year’s inaugural MayFest King and Queen, Ava Cropper and Finley McGuinness, helped launch a new tradition and are now handing on their crowns. This year, the MayFest committee is seeking boys and girls aged nine to 13 to apply for the roles of MayFest Queen, MayFest King, Flower Girl, Knight, or Jester. To apply, young people are asked to complete an application form, available through the Richmond MayFest website, explaining their preferred role, a little about themselves, and what being chosen would mean to them. Informal interviews will be held at Richmond Town Hall on Saturday morning, March 7, and children are not expected to arrive in costume. Applications can be submitted via the MayFest Royals section of the Richmond MayFest website, www.richmondmayfest.org.
