MP deeply disappointed by Government decision to end grant scheme
['John Glen']

For several villages in South Wiltshire, access to the scheme has been all that stood between the community and the deterioration and loss of the historic buildings where they practise their faith.
People who worship in listed buildings willingly take on the responsibility of being custodians of the past, giving generously of their time, effort, and money to look after interesting and important buildings for future generations.
However, the detail of the future regime is yet to be announced, which is a significant worry for many congregations.
It is also vital that the Government does not seek to penny pinch by raising the bar to entry to the new scheme.
I also share a lot of constituents’ concern about Fire Brigade proposals to close some smaller and unmanned stations, including Wilton.
