The fraud, estimated to be £10,142, involved a property that had been unlawfully let out by the registered tenant. Arun District Council served legal notices to the unlawful occupants, who have since been evicted. The council encourages residents to report suspected tenancy fraud. Councillor Roger Nash, chair of the economy committee at Arun District Council, said: "We are incredibly grateful to the resident who chose to speak up on behalf of people who actually need housing. "Thanks to responsible members of our community, we can identify and act on cases of illegal subletting more quickly."
