An Australian children’s TV series has achieved what few hit shows this year have managed to, beating Stranger Things as the most streamed show of 2025. While the Netflix drama show undoubtedly ruled headlines with its final season released at the end of the year, with over 39.95 billion minutes of viewing time, Bluey racked 45.2 billion minutes on Disney+, taking the top spot. Data by Nielsen’s streaming ratings revealed that while Stranger Things was the biggest hit of the year, outperforming every other show for five consecutive weeks after its release, Bluey surpassed it in terms of year-round viewership. Long-running medical drama Grey’s Anatomy followed closely behind with 40.92 billion minutes watched across Netflix and Hulu, pushing Stranger Things down to third place. Adults are not the only unintended audience obsessing over Bluey, even dogs seem to be captivated by the show, and experts think they know why.
