Flying business or first class with Delta Air Lines could be more affordable with a new “basic” option to be rolled out this year. Effectively, the new basic tier lets customers access premium features, such as extra legroom and complimentary alcoholic drinks, but this may mean your ticket is non-refundable and you won’t be able to get an upgrade. This lower tier has been tested on the airline’s Delta Comfort seat option from November on select flights. Known as “Delta Comfort Basic,” the new offering within the Delta Comfort line is “designed for customers who want the extra legroom and premium onboard experience of Delta Comfort—but at a lower price point, and with a few familiar restrictions,” the carrier stated in November.
