President Nikos Christodoulides on Thursday outlined Cyprus’ business, trade and competitiveness priorities at the Eurochambres presidency meeting hosted by the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Keve) in Nicosia. “Your presence here at this particular juncture, less than a month after we assumed the Presidency of the Council of the European Union, truly matters,” the president told European chamber leaders. Thomas Kazakos took over as Secretary General of the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS) in 2025, bringing with him decades of experience at the heart of global maritime policy. This international business matchmaking event is organised by ACCIÓ, a department of the Catalan Government’s Ministry of Enterprise and Labour. Cyprus’ economic growth rate is expected to remain broadly stable in the coming years, the University of Cyprus’ Economics Research Centre said in its January outlook.
