Kissi AgyebengThe Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has praised President John Dramani Mahama for intervening to stop a proposed Private Member’s Bill that sought to abolish the Office and transfer its mandate to the Attorney-General. The OSP, however, rejected those claims, describing them as misleading and inconsistent with the Office’s performance and contributions since its establishment in 2018. “The Office highly commends the President – and the nation has His Excellency to thank – for the swift and decisive call for the withdrawal of the bill,” the report stated.
