As reported by The Press, emergency services were called yesterday to St John's Walk in Heworth around 1pm yesterday (January 29) following reports of a small fire. North Yorkshire Police said a man was found unconscious at the scene and died on his way to hospital. A police cordon raised yesterday at the flats in St John's Walk appeared to have been lifted this morning as no emergency personnel or vehicles were visible to The Press as it went around the buildings. The Press has contacted North Yorkshire Police this morning and will report here when we receive any new information.
