VOLUNTEERS are being sought to help run a local allotment group. The Whittington Allotment Society was set up by Whittington and Fisherwick Parish Council to provide a forum for plot holders to exchange ideas, organise common tasks, provide shared equipment and training, arrange insurance and apply for grants. It has a four-person management committee, but the recent AGM saw the chair, secretary and site manager confirm they will step down after 31st March. To date, no-one has volunteered for the chair or site manager role, so people are needed to fill those posts in order for the organisation to run.
