The Police Service Commission (PSC) has appointed one Deputy Inspector-General of Police (DIG), and approved the promotion of two Assistant Inspectors-General of Police (AIGs) and over 26,119 Inspectors. The Head of Protocol and Public Affairs of the PSC, Torty Kalu, made this known in a statement he issued on Thursday. Kalu said the commission also approved the promotion of Danjuma Aboki and Dansabo Idi from the rank of Commissioners of Police to AIGs. Kalu said Aboki, one of the newly promoted AIGs, was, until his promotion, the CP in charge of the Imo State Police Command. He said the PSC boss congratulated the newly-promoted officers, pledging the commitment of PSC to transparency, meritocracy, and best practices in all appointment and promotion processes.
