The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has issued a weather outlook predicting widespread dust haze across northern and central parts of the country, with sunny skies, cloud patches and the likelihood of isolated thunderstorms in parts of the South on Friday. According to the agency’s Daily Weather Outlook for Friday, January 30, 2026, moderate to slight dust haze is expected over several northern states in the morning, continuing into the afternoon and evening hours. “The remaining parts of the region (North) are expected to experience slight dust haze in the morning,” NiMet said in its forecast, adding that haze was likely to persist throughout the day. In the North Central states, slight dust haze is also expected to prevail through the day, NiMet noted. Residents are advised to stay updated with official daily weather advisories from NiMet as conditions evolve.
