NU Heights, a tutoring organization, mentors young students in various subjects ranging from English to math.
The organization provides Northwestern students with volunteer experience and the opportunity to engage with younger students in the Evanston area, NU Heights President and Weinberg sophomore Michael Wightman said.
NU Heights’ main partner, the Chicago Math and Science Academy, connects volunteers to interested middle and high school students.
He added that NU Heights hopes to launch two new programs this quarter: an additional STEM after-school program and a campus STEM fair for elementary and middle school students in the Evanston area.
Crowell said NU Heights allows students to use their collegiate experiences to give back to Evanston’s youth.
