Ahead of the 13th National Election, 12 platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have been deployed in four upazilas of Brahmanbaria and Cumilla districts to maintain law and order. According to a press release issued by BGB Battalion-60 Brahmanbaria, the deployment began yesterday, following directives from the Election Commission. The deployment covers Nabinagar and Bancharampur upazilas in Brahmanbaria, and Burichang and Brahmanpara upazilas in Cumilla. Protecting lives and property of the general public and maintaining law and order remain their top priorities, he added. He also said the BGB remains fully prepared to deal with any untoward situation related to the election and will stay on alert in the deployed areas.
