City of Perth Lord Mayor Bruce Reynolds is on the warpath for a whistleblower who leaked an internal report which found Council House to be a toxic workplace in crisis. “There are punishments that include imprisonment for releasing material that was confidential to the media and, you know, fines up to $50,000. City of Perth currently has a monitor on-site to review council practices and workplace operations. Local Government Minister Hannah Beazley has said previously that she will not hesitate to act to address dysfunction within the sector. “The message from me to all local governments is clear: lift your game, or we will take action.”
