It is important for the residents of the City of Vicksburg to understand how our city government is designed to function. The Mayor is the ceremonial leader of the City of Vicksburg. When the Mayor speaks, he does so representing the collective voice of the Board — as he should. As a productive and progressive governing body, it is my belief that we should speak with one unified voice, and that voice is the Mayor. Thus far, everything Mayor Willis Thompson has said and done on behalf of the City has been in alignment with my views and positions.
