Morocco’s police (DGSN) arrested a 38-year-old French national on Wednesday at Rabat-Salé Airport, following an international arrest warrant issued by French judicial authorities, according to a security source. Police officers detained the suspect immediately upon his arrival from Tunis. After verifying the Interpol database, the police identified the individual as the subject of a “red notice” issued by the French National Central Bureau in Paris over the alleged involvement in an international criminal network engaged in drug trafficking, distribution of controlled substances, and money laundering. The suspect was remanded in custody pending further investigation under the supervision of the Public Prosecutor’s Office. The Interpol Bureau in Rabat will notify its French counterpart of his detention before initiating extradition procedures.
