Morocco’s dam inflows reached a total of 5.83 billion cubic meters from September 1, 2025, to January 28, 2026, a surplus of 35% from the annual average and an increase of 330% year on year, Government Spokesperson Mustapha Baitas said on Thursday. Speaking at a press briefing after the weekly government council meeting, Baitas noted that 5.41 billion cubic meters of this total were recorded from December 12 to January 28, 2026, about 92.8% of all inflows registered since the beginning of September. The spokesperson added that dam fill levels across Morocco improved significantly, rising from 31.1% on December 12, 2025, to 55.25% on January 28, 2026, with total water reserves reaching 9.26 billion cubic meters. The fill rate has not been recorded since July 2019, while the dam fill levels stood at around 27% at the same time last year. Morocco recorded 138.5 millimeters of rain from September 1, 2025, to January 28, 2026, a 142% increase from the same period last year, according to the minister.
