Aberdeen in Hong Kong recently featured in the premiere episode of the 20th series of The Apprentice. Candidates were tasked with sourcing nine items around Hong Kong, one of the biggest negotiating cities anywhere. I was lucky enough to visit Hong Kong on a March day when temperatures reached 25C—a heat only dreamed of by Aberdonians. In Hong Kong, however, granite is used mainly in Kowloon and the northern part of Hong Kong Island. Yet it also feels slightly detached from the rest of Hong Kong, being located on the south side of Hong Kong Island.
