The funding continues a multi-year collaboration between Sony and Startale that began with earlier seed rounds. Startale Group, the blockchain company behind the Soneium network, just landed another $13 million from the Sony Innovation Fund. Sony already backed Startale with $3.5 million in September 2023 and put in another $3.5 million earlier this year. According to Startale, Soneium has already handled over 500 million transactions, picked up more than 5.4 million active wallets, and now hosts over 250 decentralized apps. Additionally, Startale has released Startale USD (USDSC), a stablecoin that acts as the native settlement layer for Soneium to support its applications.
