— Sheriff Brookwell with the Washakie County Sheriff’s Office announced that on Wednesday night at approximately 6:15 p.m., the WCSO, as well as the Worland Police Department, the Worland Fire Department, the Cody Regional Health Ambulance, the Wyoming Highway Patrol and the Washakie County Coroner, responded to a head-on collision on U.S. Highway 20, near Worland. A social media post from Brookwell says that two individuals in one of the vehicles did not survive the crash. “Due to the seriousness of the crash, the investigation has been turned over to the Wyoming Highway Patrol,” the social media post states. Their willingness to act speaks volumes about the character of our community.”The sheriff also thanked Worland police officers and all of the first responders who assisted with the crash. “Incidents like this are always heartbreaking, and we are deeply sorry for the loss of the two individuals,” the post states.
