— The second of three public safety town halls hosted by the Casper Police Department focused on traffic violations, especially in and around school zones, and burglary and shoplifting cases in the largest of Casper’s patrol areas. The town hall also discussed Area 2, a smaller zone located to the west of Area 1. She added that she thinks the school zone, which stops before reaching 12th Street, should be extended. “We have little kids darting across the road there and cars are just hauling ass because it’s not a school zone,” she said. Following this series of public meetings, the PD will use the public input to form a plan of how to improve public safety and reduce crime.
