Lucy Crespo, CEO of the Puerto Rico Science, Technology & Research Trust, speaks at the 2026 Advanced Research Grant awards event announcing more than $1.8 million in grants. The Puerto Rico Science, Technology & Research Trust has awarded more than $1.8 million in new grants to local researchers and early-stage entrepreneurship projects, supported by a recent $9.5 million allocation from the Puerto Rico government. At the event, the Science Trust awarded grants to 11 researchers based in Puerto Rico. Science Trust CEO Lucy Crespo said the funding is intended to strengthen Puerto Rico’s research and innovation capacity. The Science Trust said its Research Grants Program is the only locally administered research funding initiative in Puerto Rico that awards grants through a peer-review process.
