I'm in the middle of a swap from my 258 & T-176 to a 304 & TF999. The TF999 is a 727 derivative (sibling, off-spring, cousin, whatever), and shares a lot of the same configuration traits. Second question: is this an AMC or Jeep 727? There's not a lot of space between the TF999's pan and skid plate, so if the 727's pan is much deeper, it might hit. So basically, slip the skid plate to the rearward set of holes (if not already done), use a CJ mounting bracket bolted into the 727's transfer case adapter (assuming it's 'Jeep') and it should all line up.
