Devon and Cornwall Police will receive up to £483.5 million as part of the government’s £18.4 billion investment in policing, a 4.2 per cent rise on last year.
The funding forms part of a national plan to deliver the Neighbourhood Policing Guarantee, which aims to put 13,000 neighbourhood policing personnel into roles by the end of this Parliament.
"We are restoring neighbourhood policing, with nearly 2,400 more neighbourhood officers in our communities.
This includes an additional £50 million to help deliver the government’s Neighbourhood Policing Guarantee.
From April, the government is scrapping the Officer Maintenance Grant and replacing it with a new Neighbourhood Policing Ringfence.
