Greg Adermann, councillor for Brisbane’s Pullenvale ward, is one resident who is fighting against the branch closure. He has started a petition urging Commonwealth Bank to reverse its decision, arguing the closure “threatens to dismantle a critical part” of the community. The nearest Commonwealth Bank branches for Kenmore residents will now be at Indooroopilly Shopping Centre, Toowong and Mount Ommaney, which are within 8 kilometres and around a 15-minute drive away.
