At Rochdale Coroners' Court on Thursday (January 29), an inquest was opened into the death of Sheila Large, 90, by assistant coroner for Manchester North Julie Mitchell. Police Coroners Officer Tracy Bunn told the court that Ms Large, a widow who was originally born in London, had been to a local supermarket when she was hit by the reversing car at around 2pm on January 7 on Albert Street West, Failsworth. PCO Bunn said Ms Large became "agitated" and was taken to North Manchester General Hospital, where she "sadly passed away almost a week later" on January 13.
