A strong third quarter on defense and scoring from Sy’Nye Baker led Renaissance past West Springfield, 42-38, on Thursday at home. Baker finished with a team-high 14 points, while J’adore Reese and Keishla Rodriguez each contributed ten points each. Kylie O’Brien had a team-high 14 points for the Terriers. West Springfield went into halftime with a five-point lead, but Renaissance’s defense firmed up in the third quarter, holding West Springfield to only four points in the frame. Renaissance plays again on Monday against Agawam, while West Springfield plays Holyoke on Monday.
