The suburban 19-year-old accused of stabbing a pregnant mother to death earlier this week is in critical condition Thursday night from self-inflicted wounds, the DuPage County Sheriff's Office said. He was immediately treated by Correctional Center medical staff and transported to a local medical facility for treatment. Authorities said he is in critical condition and preliminary investigation suggests his injuries were self-inflicted. He was ordered to be detained until his trial at a court hearing earlier in the day Thursday.
