North Arlington used a strong first quarter to establish control and never looked back as it defeated Tenafly 40-29 in the Bergen County Invitational in North Arlington. Ava Freire led the Vikings with 14 points, while Lyndsay Gilbert and Madison Kornas each contributed 11 for North Arlington (16-2). The Vikings jumped out to a 16-7 lead after the first quarter and maintained their advantage throughout the game, outscoring Tenafly 6-5 in the second quarter and 11-8 in the third to build a 33-20 lead heading into the final period. Tenafly (2-12) outscored North Arlington 9-7 in the fourth quarter, but the early deficit proved too much to overcome. Mia Katava scored 19 of her team’s 29 points.
