GENESEE COUNTY, MI -- Two Republican candidates have announced they’re running for the 26th District Michigan Senate seat that’s being vacated by Kevin Daley, R-Lum. The district includes portions of Genesee, Lapeer, Saginaw, and Tuscola counties. Daltson Atwell announced his Birch Run-based campaign on Jan. 20, and Gabriel Lossing of Lapeer County announced his candidacy four days later. I’m a small-business owner who has lived the ups and downs that so many working families know too well,” the statement from the owner of Stone Yard Landscape Center reads. Atwell listed priorities of restoring fiscal responsibility, defending local control, supporting working families, and education reform.
