On Thursday at 6:48 p.m. EST a special weather statement was issued by the National Weather Service until 11 p.m. EST for Marquette and Alger counties. "A band of snowfall will be moving onshore from Lake Superior to Marquette and Alger County beginning around 7 p.m. This band of snow will bring sharply reduced visibility, especially along exposed portions of M-28 and US-41. Drivers should take caution when out and about this evening as visibility could quickly change over a short distance, and fresh snowfall may make some roads slick," states the weather service.
